Professional experience is fundamentally storied. Storytelling is a primary way humans convey understanding, ideas and history, whether verbally or in written form. Whenever we answer questions such as, “What do you do?” or “Why did you decide to become…?” we embark on a form of professional narrative. Creating a narrative of aspects of professional experience or the entirety of a career experience also provides opportunity for exploration, refinement, reflection, redirection and communication not possible through standard marketing and branding materials.
